How about the hummed background vocals at the end on The Rolling Stones' "Paint It, Black" (which occur before, and after, the verse where Mick Jagger sings "I want to see it painted black/Black as night/Black as coal ...";)?
"I am such a purist for old information on anything '70s and '80s."

Um. I think they're talking about an entire song being repetitive not a section of it.

And oh, as for the thread. Pretty much any rap song.

Most Mexican songs too. I was at the locals flea market on Sunday and every song had a repetitive beat and lyrics.

Alot of the top 40 pop music from the last 12 years. Gwen Stefani is a partiuarly bad offender on that front.

Ah, I read title and immediately thought "Message in a bottle".
That said, electronica is an obvious choice, like
                  Honey - Moby
Rockefeller Skank - Fat Boy Slim
I also find Neil Young and The Eagles to both be repetitive.
                  Oh yeah?

Bah. I fucking hate this song:

                      Blinded by the light,
                      revved up like a deuce,
                      another runner in the night
                      Blinded by the light,
                      revved up like a deuce,
                      another runner in the night
                      Blinded by the light,
                      revved up like a deuce,
                      another runner in the night
                      Madman drummers bummers,
Indians in the summer with a teenage diplomat
In the dumps with the mumps as the adolescent pumps his way into his hat
With a boulder on my shoulder, feelin' kinda older,
                      I tripped the merry-go-round
With this very unpleasin', sneezin' and wheezin,
the calliope crashed to the ground
The calliope crashed to the ground
                      But she was...
                      Blinded by the light,
                      revved up like a deuce,
                      runner in the night
                      Blinded by the light,
                      revved up like a deuce,
                      another runner in the night
                      Blinded by the light,
                      revved up like a deuce,
                      another runner in the night
                      Blinded by the light,
                      revved up like a deuce,
                      another runner in the night
Some silicone sister with a manager mister told me I go what it takes
She said "I'll turn you on sonny to something strong,
play the song with the funky break"
And go-cart Mozart was checkin' out the weather chart to see if it was safe outside
And little Early-Pearly came by in his curly-wurly and asked me if I needed a ride
Asked me if I needed a ride
                      But she was...
                      Blinded by the light,
                      revved up like a deuce,
                      another runner in the night
                      Blinded by the light
She got down but she never got tired
She's gonna make it through the night
She's gonna make it through the night
But mama, that's where the fun is
But mama, that's where the fun is
Mama always told me not to look into the eye's of the sun
But mama, that's where the fun is
Some brimstone baritone anticyclone rolling stone preacher from the east
Says, "Dethrone the dictaphone, hit it in it's funny bone,
that's where they expect it least"
And some new-mown chaperone was standin' in the corner,
                      watching the young girls dance
And some fresh-sown moonstone was messin' with his frozen zone, reminding him of romance
The calliope crashed to the ground
                      But she was...
                      Blinded by the light,
                      revved up like a deuce,
                      another runner in the night
                      Blinded by the light,
                      revved up like a deuce,
                      another runner in the night
                      Blinded by the light,
                      revved up like a deuce,
                      another runner in the night

Now Scott with a slingshot finially found a tender spot and throws his lover in the sand
And some bloodshot forget-me-not said daddy's within earshot save the buckshot, turn up the band
Some silicone sister with a manager mister told me I go what it takes

Yeah, the only way I can listen to that one is the Rock and Roll Circus version that doesn't have those background vocals. Also, they could have easily cut that song's length by at least half.

                            another runner in the night
                            Blinded by the light,
                            revved up like a deuce,
                            another runner in the night
                            Blinded by the light,
                            revved up like a deuce,

                            Blinded by the light
Madman drummers bummers, Indians in the summer with a teenage diplomat
In the dumps with the mumps as the adolescent pumps his way into his hat
With a boulder on my shoulder, feelin' kinda older,
                            I tripped the merry-go-round
With this very unpleasin', sneezin' and wheezin,
the calliope crashed to the ground
Now Scott with a slingshot finially found a tender spot and throws his lover in the sand
And some bloodshot forget-me-not said daddy's within earshot save the buckshot, turn up the band
Some silicone sister with a manager mister told me I go what it takes
She said "I'll turn you on sonny to something strong"

It always sounds like he's singing "revved up like a douche."

Funny, I just had a conversation about the "Revved up like a douche" thing. I think he's just mispronouncing the cars name.
                              Oh yeah?

Actually, Queen has a couple more songs that aren't repetitive. The March of the Black Queen is like a pre-Bohemian Rhapsody.

And as far as repetiveness goes, at least they don't start off their songs by singing the same thing over and over again, like some modern songs (that suck).
All of this Political Correctness junk is going to turn me into a modern day Archie Bunker before I turn 30.

Try Catch 22's "The Spark". The chorus goes:

"When the roots pop up, when the roots pop up, when the roots pop up, when the roots pop up, when the roots pop up, when the roots pop up, when the roots pop up, when the roots pop up, yeah".
