I just thought I'd fill you guys in on the real reason Benjanime left RJ. He sent me a PM on Retrodaze, and he had this to say.
"hey crow, i just thought i'd give out some tidbits of why i actually left rj.
first off, yes i did originally want to leave from the site's downgrade, but mostly because of how lowbrow the community of article readers had gotten, not to mention a couple of newbies in being totally unaware of how articles are done, yet posting blatant comments on them.
daash was the main problem, as he completely ignored the 2000s decade option and kept going on that it only means that it's "only the year 2000 and not beyond". since i already wrote a dozen of retro articles, i wanted to focus on articles with the years ranging from 2000 to 2003.
i explained to daash though that through the 2000s decade only 2000 to 2005 feel retro to me somewhat, and that those years completely slipped us by. i suppose that i went a little too far by closing my account, but with the site as a whole losing a lot of its magic, i couldn't do much else. articles were the last bit of fun that i got out of the site, and even that got boring after getting such a minimal amount of people commmenting and voting it.
i just miss the days when my articles got flooded with comments from many different people in the community. even though it might seem like that on this site, i'm giving this one a chance, especially since we haven't run into any troublemakers yet" |
