To celebrate 25 years of toys, toons, & excessive pizza eating, Playmates is re-releasing their old Turtle toys.

The first wave includes the televised versions of April, Don, Mike, Raph, Leo, Splinter, Rocksteady, & Bebop.

    And the original turtle van.

To bad they didn't include Shredd-head or Krang

"Safety Warning: This Product is for Adult Collectors. It may contain sharp points, small parts that are choking hazards, and other elements that are not suitable for children under 16 years of age"

Are they serious? But the figures do look pretty cool, especially the turtle van.

On a Side note, I saw all four star Trek Turtles in a thrift store boxed for a few dollars each. Didn't buy 'em though.

HA! Thay's awesome! I've got First Officer Donatello that I've had in the original box since I was about four.

My mom always told me that when I was younger that it would go towards paying for my college tution or I could open it when I was in college.

I'm in college now & I'm still not allowed to open it.

This is really great news, because I hate the new turtles figures. When I was much younger back in the late eighties and early ninties I just did'nt have the money, but now I do. I've always wanted the Turtles van but never got it due to it being too dear, but I may be tempted now. :D

I've been seeing these around. One negative thing I see happening now is people trying to pass these off as old figures on ebay, but I guess as long as they post real pics it won't be a problem.

I do see myself getting the van though, just to have all the stickers and everything again.

I saw these reissues selling for as much as sealed original ones at a toy show a couple weeks back. They really haven't gone up in value a lot because they made so damn many of them.

now that theyve been rereleased, does that mean the values of the old ones have gone down? on ebay? etc

I have a mini Donatello figure that I got free with a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003 cartoon) VHS I bought when I was 17, and the figure is still in its own packaging, unopened!

I really like ninja turtles, but I'm not sure if I want these. There's just so much shit from the classic line that you could get, rather than invest in a re-issue. I'm glad they're celebrating the 25th yr anniversary, but it seems like they could be a little more creative with the release of the figures.

Why did they include a DVD of material that has already been released, when something exclusive would have been much more appealing to the collector? I don't get it.

You can still buy the original 1988 toys still sealed for about the same price as these new re-issued versions.

That might be a slight exaggeration, but it's not too far from the truth. Turtles are very slowly gaining value. I think a lot of the fans aren't really educated in knowing what is considered rare or rare condition. They also aren't very discriminating when it comes to card condition. They pretty much just want Ninja Turtle on a very casual level. It's not like the other vintage lines where condition is very important and determines the value. This is why a factory fresh looking, vintage TMNT MOC can sell for the same amount as one less mint.

I did finally see bebop & Rocksteady the other day. They looked good. I noticed that they didn't come with a DVD. I still think an exclusive comic would have been the way to go. It will be interesting to see the Party Wagon back on store shelves.

                                      That's just their guess.
Playmates toys are manufacturing the figures exactly as they originally were, so expect the original "ages 4 and up" age reccomendation to remain intact.
It even says "ages 4 and up" on the pages of the same products on Toys R Us's online store!

Yeah man I was at Toys "R" Us the other day and found Raphael whom is my favorite Turtle.

By the way, to all TMNT fans out there there also selling season seven in four part sets that include a mini figure of each of the turtles. I have Raphael and Mikey, and plan on getting Don and Leo.
