I'm a huge fan of Starfox...but was kind of disapponited with Starfox Adventures. Starfox and Starfox 64 are my picks, and Starfox 2 was basically an infant form of the 64 version (still wouldve liked a cartridge release)

I went to go rent Starfox Assault and the Blockbuster I live by doesn't carry it. And I am not paying $50 bucks for a game that might suck.

So whats your favorite Starfox game....and is Starfox Assault even worth playing?

Starfox 64 was definitely the best.

Well SFA is ok, I was hoping with it being co-produced by Namco that it'd have more of an Ace Combat like feel to it.

Any way , It'd be a tie for the "FX" games though I can't understand what is being said in the Beta rom I Dled. (SF2)

Starfox 64 is the best. In fact I was a bit disappointed in Starfox adventure; beautiful game but it just wasn't complete I guess

You can dowload a language patch so you can understand what they are saying here:

I found Starfox 64 to be kinda easy, but the voices are the most memorable (Do a barrel roll! LOL). I never played Adventures, but it seems kinda cool. I only played the demo of Assault, which was cool.

Starfox 64 is the best imo, kind of easy indeed, but getting some high scores could be tricky sometimes, I soooo hated Aquas

the original Starfox was ok but I found it kinda hard, not because of the gameplay but because of the graphics, in some levels it was kind of hard to tell enemies from other objects and projectiles could just pop up in front of you

Adventures is a really great game the first time you play it but it has no replay value, it kinda feels like Zelda OoT at first, but unlike Zelda which stayed fun every time you play it, Adventures is kinda dull when you play it again

Starfox Assault is awesome, if you ask me it's a close second to 64, the arwing and landmaster gameplay is basicly the same, the parts on foot are a bit different than the multiplayer unlockable in 64 but they're ok, not as much fun as the vehicles tho
you can clearly see that they based this game on 64, the StarWolf team is back with a new member, and the battle with them is as fun as in 64
Peppy is replaced by Krystal from Adventures, she's an ok teammember, Slippy is just as useless as ever, in fact, in the first 20 seconds of the game he gets in the exact same situation as in the first 20 seconds of 64
what bugs me about Assault is the story, it sucks, no Andross this time but aliens called Aparoids, and after finishing it a couple of times I still couldn't figure out wether they are biological or machines, the enemies look like machines but they can combine with living things like blubber
the gameplay through the missions are a lot of fun, the bosses are a big dull compared to those in 64, not much variety if you ask me

so basicly to answer your question, it's definatly worth playing, if you loved 64 then you'll definatly like Assault as well

in never had the starfox games on the snes but i got to say i liked sfadventures the best, assult was way to easy and could have been so much better having namco helping out.

I've only played the original Star Fox on SNES, but I guess one day I'll check the others out.

Just chimed in to point out that Star Fox 64 was renamed 'Lylat Wars' for European release (just like the original was renamed 'Starwing', due to copyright issues). It's a pretty dumb name. 'Lylat Wars'.

I read somewhere that Argonaut was supposedly developing a SNES Transformers game using the FX technology, but it never eventuated. Would've been cool.

A Transformers game would've kicked ass. The closest thing that ever came out is Voltron which also used FX technology, and when I downloaded Starfox 2 you could morph from an Arwing to a ground walker.

Starfox: Adventures was laughable, and laugh I did

Star Fox 64 definitely. I just recently got Expert mode and have yet to medal everything on that. That and Tetrisphere are the only games I play my N64 for nowadays. Of course that will all change when I get my Revolution :P

Propably StarFox 64 (Though mine's Lylat Wars). It's still awesome:D

I recently bought the original StarFox for SNES. It was alright even though I played it through in less than an hour. StarFox Assault also was a very good game. It gave me the same feeling that I had seven years ago once i competed StarFox 64 the very first time( I played it through with my friend).
                                    Oh the memories...

And SF: Adventures was graphically the best, but game the gameplay was pretty much from Legend of Zelda:OoT.

Star Fox 64, hands down. I still find myself playing that game from time to time and its still just as fun as it used to be. Although, maybe a little easier.
