Hi,
Who can think of any song in history which references the Kennedy family members?
Hot sheet:
*The Rolling Stones - "Sympathy for the Devil" (1968)
References: John F. Kennedy (d. 11/22/63) and younger brother Robert F., the latter of who was shot dead by serial killer Sirhan Sirhan the same year this song was recorded. It is in the line "Who killed the Kennedys?" (originally written as "Who killed Kennedy?" prior to R.F.K.'s assassination)
*Neil Diamond - "Sweet Caroline (Good Times Never Seemed So Good)" (1969)
References: Caroline B. Kennedy(-Schlossberg)
*Styx - "Eddie" (1979)
References: Edward M. "Ted" Kennedy.
Written about: A warning to Ted Kennedy making his run for President of the U.S. that he might risk being shot dead and placed alongside the graves of his three older brothers, who were U.S. Navy pilot Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr., President John F. Kennedy and Senator Robert F. Kennedy ("And you saw just what they've done/To your brothers"). A convincing aspect of this is the line "First in the '80s, but the last of the sons," meaning Ted was the only one of Joseph P. Kennedy's four sons to still be alive as 1980 dawned. Heck, he was also the only one still alive when 1970 dawned...
