A lot of people that would describe themselves as "indie music fans" idolize a man named Mike Watt. Well let me tell you something, he isn't very good.
He was in this shitty punk band called the Minute Men that a lot of people like to say the name of but don't listen to the actual music. Why? Because it sucked. Some music journalist somewhere along the line thought it would be cool to say this is a good band and even today, fags with lip rings talk about the Minute Men with false reverence.
So the guy is basically a solo act now, and because people like Ian Mackaye (who also sucks) say he is cool, Mike Watt's image is further bolstered. He has become somewhat of a patron saint amongst flannel wearing hipsters.
But let me tell YOU something. I saw him perform live and it was the worst dogshit I have ever heard. I could fart on a guitar and make better music than this guy could. And its not like he was having a bad night... he always sucks. Check it out on youtube for yourself.
He was booed off the stage by the same people 10 minutes earlier were talking about how they would give Mike Watt a blowjob if they could talk to him for 5 minutes.
