Jonas Brothers? Has someone already mentioned them?

No, 'cause they are clearly pop ;)

Anyways, most over rated? Any rock musician that is regularly mentioned in Guitar World magazine (Yngwie Malmsteen, John Petrucci, Joe Satriani, ect), I mean, I do like alot of them, but I find they are very over rated

But just like Miley Cyrus sings, "I wanna be a rock star"

I bet they feel the same way. They, too, wanna be a rock star.

This coming from someone who thinks everyone should like the same kind of music?

I agree with all but these two. RAtM are sort of like a gateway band to hard rock, and I guess I just can't dislike Rob Zombie.
              Oh yeah?

RAtM's first album was great, but after two more albums of the same ol' shit, it's like, "All right! I get it. You're pissed off and you hate capitalism (despite the fact that you owe your entire success to capitalism.)" You know how much they charge for their concerts? The hypocritical shits! Somebody earlier mentioned that they thought Fugazi was overrated, but at least Fugazi practices what they preach.

As for Rob Zombie, he's just not that good. I like his art work and movies, but his music is just meh.

Funny how Rage Against the Machine hates the mainstream and such and they are mainstream. I find that band overrated.

                  More overrated bands
                  Def Leppard-Never liked them.
Korn-I don't get the appeal of this band.
KISS-I'm sick of people who think that this band is metal, they are not.
                  Oasis-Just shitty

Of course Kiss aren't metal. What self respecting metal band would have both Michael Bolton and Dianne Warren write songs for them. Think about that for a minute, I'll wait.

Pantera was awesome and that was so sad about Dimebag. What a min you're into grindcore but don't like thrash metal? Sounds like a poser to me.

Did you know that Pantera was originally a glam metal band?

What makes you think that I hate thrash metal? I love thrash metal, but that band isn't thrash metal. At first they were glam and then changed it to some southern metal. I still don't like that band.

you know, in my earlier post, I forgot to mention the two of the most overrated rock bands of all time: Pearl Jam and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Oh yeah, how could I forget about the dave matthews band. Man, talk about boring. I lived in a pretty big college town for quite a few years. I swear, every other car had a dave matthews band bumper sticker. I hate that whole "jam band sound". yuck. Also, good point on the red hot chili peppers. I liked them back in the early '90 when i was a kid, but they really turned into a bunch of wimps. I'm sure if i listed to blood sugar sex magic now, i would think it sucks.

Pink Floyd do have overrated albums (I'm looking at you, The Wall) but they have a lot of albums no one out of their hardcore fanbase gets to really hear, like all the pre Dark Side of the Moon stuff, even the two albums after Dark Side and before the Wall, Wish You Were Here and Animals don't register with alot of people. Animals is a really good, bleak album with a couple of pretty hard rocking moments. It never tends to get radio play because most tracks on it are over 8 minutes.

Obscured by Clouds from '72 gets ignored alot and it's a great album. It's a good way to hear Dark Side of the Moon style Floyd material without having to sit through Time and Money again.

I keep seeing these kids who go apeshit over Dark Side of the Moon and the Wall and totally ignore all the other Floyd albums.

I would say too, the post Roger Waters albums are very weak. Hardly anyone would give the music on those the time of day if they didn't have the Pink Floyd name on them. Most of the stuff on the post Waters albums sounds like Kenny G trying to do prog rock to me.

Yeah I never understood the popularity of the Dave Matthews Band. I had an album of theirs and thought it was pretty ho hum. Oh well; to each his/her own I guess.
