Janis Joplin: A Little Piece Of My Heart. Yes I'm aware that she doesn't actually play the guitar but the guitar solo in this song is amazing.

Roland Orzabal has such an amazing ear for the guitar. Listen to the guitar solos mid-way through this song and you'll see what I mean.

What about Jimmy Page's occasional use of the violin bow on such Led Zeppelin songs as "Dazed and Confused" (originally the Yardbirds' "I'm Confused";) and "Whole Lotta Love"?

What about favorite riff? I love the March of the S.O.D. by S.O.D.(Stormtroopers of Death), it's thrashtastic! Orion by Metallica is a good instrumental.

That solo in A Little Piece of My Heart was sensational! :) Also, Metallica never ceases to amaze me. :D

Our Music is Red with Purple Flashes is a good compilation of the Creation's stuff from the mid 60's. I like their sound alot, they took the Kinks and early Who songwriting style and gave it a tougher, harder edge. Great stuff.
