Have some games traumatised you at some point of your life? If so, what game and, if you know, why? For me, the Mortal kombat games in the arcade (especially number 3 but also 2) really shocked me whenever I saw a fatality or a pit fatality. The screams, the blood and all; it really shocked me.

Metal Gear Solid, for the win.

There's times where I've even felt fad about strangleing my opponents :P

It's still so much fun otherwise.

Aladdin for Sega Genesis b/c I would spent countless hours trying to get out of the Cave of Wonders where the rock was chasing me. It got to a point where I was like, "God, how can I beat this level?" LOL *Lisa*

Three "shocking" PC games I used to love playin' in the dark with a good set of headphones and a bong:

Quake (the soundtrack damn near made this game)

Quake II (the Strogg processing center with those captured marines)

Thief: The Dark Project (that game gave me butterflies in my stomach...some of those "wound or murder" moments were so intense, I actually found myself wrestling with my conscious. By far one of the best FPS's ever created)

GTA used to freak me out.
Narrator: Man lives in the sunlit world of what he believes to be reality. But... there is, unseen by most, an underworld, a place that is just as real, but not as brightly lit... a Darkside

Call of Duty really screwed me up for a while. All of the gunfire surrounding you was intense. For the first time in my life, a video game affected my mood after playing. I can't even imagine what it was like in real life...

for me it was time killers

at least with mortal kombat you couldn't cut arms off in the middle of the round and watch the character fight with a empty socket where an arm used to be and have the arm wiggiling on thg round in a pool of blood

                          Project Zero on the PS2....

Take everything that makes Ringu, Dark Water and The Eye unsettling and throw them in a video game.... complete with shrill and sudden soundtrack....

Resident evil 2 ( the first of the series I played ). When you walk down the hallway in the police station and no zombie anywhere and all of a sudden these arms came up from everywhere...first game where I almost got a heart attack

Okay, I'm sure I'll get laughed at for this. But I've decided to share this story with everyone. (Takes deep breath.) Here goes:

My first real experience with games came when we got the NES. One of the games in my collection was Maniac Mansion. It wasn't so bad at first...until reports surfaced of a bug in early versions of the game that let players put Weird Ed's hamster in the microwave and cook it.

Well when I found out about that, I started crying and refused to play the game anymore. I begged my parents to take it back. Hey, I was only 7 or 8 at the time and didn't want to see animals being hurt.

Funny thing is, I never actually tested my version of the game to see if it had this defect. Damn, I could've had a collector's item!

Guys, what about the Silent hill games? Now those games were quite shocking I think. Really disturbing at some points.

Most traumatizing game ... probably Wario Land for Game Boy ... but played on Super Game Boy. For the SNES. It disturbed me as a child for my nextdoor neighbor to draw on the screen with the 'coloring' on the screen mode.

I was playing Resident Evil 4 today and I jumped out of my seat because of the damn snake in the crate. Those programmers are jerks.
