The fear of lead-based toys is still striking the hearts of parents and the et ceteras. A new law apparently forbids the sale of products for children under 12. so it looks like Ebay is doomed...and so are you...

You know, I'm always hearing about these lead recalls and stuff, but I never hear any cases of anybody actually dying from the products. :?

But anyways, this seems a tad extreme. Whatever gets the parents to shut up, I guess.

Magnets swallowed can cause perforations in the intestines by sticking while in different tracts. Children have died. That being said, I don't think there should be a ban on selling loose figures.

You know since lead was removed from gasoline in the early 80s the average persons blood lead level have dropped 60%. There use to be lead everywhere. I don't think one toys with traces of lead is going to harm a child. Not saying we don't need to be more careful just saying a toy on ebay is not going to kill them.

Don't people who purchase things on ebay purchase just for themselves? and are legal card holders?

and when it comes to buying for their kids aren't the items boxed? and priced stupidly?

Thank you, Snopes! Used toys don't really have to be tested! :D

Not unless the product was recalled in some sort of way...

:evil: Motherfuckers. This is why I don't care for the government. It's because they meddle. Back the fuck off. I've bought plenty of used action figures over the years from eBay and various local resale shops and I'm still alive. I'm also not insane as a result of handling any used items that might be covered in lead. Though some may think so...I guess I best get to my favorite vintage toy shop in Cleveland, Big Fun, and buy up what ever I feel like buying. What about used video games, cds, books, and dvds?? Are they next?? Assholes. I'm pissed.:evil:

Coming Soon: G.I. JOES ON THE BLACK MARKET!!:evil::cry:

I guess not until now...so I now understand that people will still be able to purchase the used products legally as long as an advisory is posted somewhere in the shop?? I'm also 23, so the rule never applied to me anyway...I know the rule will affect eBay but as long as it doen't affect my favorite retro shops I'll be happy.
