    		 Alright, it's seems everytime I visit this forum somebody is complaining about these people. I want an explanation. Are they bad people, and why does it matter so much what they listen to? I mean, if the scene kids are half as annoying as the people always knocking em' down, then....jeez...Are they so hated because they follow trends, or what?

      		 They're hated because it's popular to hate them now, but everyone loved them, back when it was popular to be one. The only people here bitching about them are too old to really have a valid opinion, or high schoolers trying to keep up with what is and isn't safe to slam.

              		 1. They are posers.
              2. They wear band shirts with certain bands but they don't even listen to the music or know who the band is. They like the shirt because of the design.
              3. Not all scene kids are high schoolers. I know some guys who are in their early 20s who are scene kids.

                          yeah but a lot of people who don't look typically "scene" do that too.
                          i think instead of focusing all the scene aspect people should just realize that there are idiots in the world regardless of the subculture.

                                		 well i think it's a mutation of a combination of things. "scene" is because ideally they're the ones who hang out at the music venues together "the music scene" kinda like punk rock but with less to do with the music and more to do with being seen in your new black skinnyleg jeans. the hairstyle is a derivative of emo probably, and so is a lot of the music, hardcore with emo roots. so i dunno, to me the scene always seemed like a bunch of really confused kids who haven't figured out who they are yet...so they just grab on to whatever their friends are doing. and i can't really criticize them for that because it's not their fault, they just want to be accepted. it's like any other thing but it just seems like the media picked up more on this one, so it's become more of a big deal than it actually is. i feel bad for anyone who gets made fun of though, whether it be goth or scene or punk or whatever. usually dies mid-college anyway!
