I've been meaning to respond to this for a long time, now I finally found out that I've gotten a lot of feedback here.
Now, what's this kind of stuff I'm hearing: "I wonder if you actually take the time to read someone's article." I wonder the same thing. I wonder why people give articles an automatic thumbs down just because it's a Top 10 list or someone's referencing the AVGN or the Nostalgia Critic or someone like that.
It seems that comment I made has become popular to a lot of you saying: "If I see one more article on here about Batman, the Terminator, Star Wars or Skeletor, I'm going to give it an automatic thumbs down without even reading it!" Okay, so you found that offensive, but you didn't find THIS offensive? "If you mention the AVGN or Screwattack in one more article of your's, I'm going to give it an automatic thumbs down without even reading it!" This quote was said by NostalgicJester in one of my earlier articles, yet he also told me he'd bash me for mentioning the Nostalgia Critic, even though he didn't mention him in that comment at all. Well, you know what? What can I say? I'm sick of those topics because they're common topics on here. You guys probably have no idea how sick I am of the whole world talking about "The Dark Knight"!
I'm also concerned about the articles of mine that got sent to the back page for ridiculous reasons, such as everyone disagreeing with my opinions. Take a look at the other articles that got sent back there! Articles that are too short, contain a lack of detail, no pictures, material that make it not even qualify as an article. Those deserve to be banished to obscurity, not well-written articles with opinions that people disagree with!
Oh, and I think there's something I don't think anyone pointed out yet, is how even if I try to be nice, I still get back talk. Here's an example of a comment I left on the article, "That Piece of Junk?" written by vkimo: I'm really getting tired of Star Wars articles, but thumbs up anyway. I really like how you set up the article, plus it was very well-written.
And now, here's a response to that comment made by naruto_fanatic: in my words fuck off asslover, this thing rocks.
What? He thought I was being a 100% total asshole in every word I said? And that's a lot coming from someone who hasn't made any contributions to the site whatsoever. I can clearly tell, because it says so on his profile. He even left a message on his profile threatening to ban people. How can someone be a moderator while not submitting anything to contribute even?
If I give articles a thumbs down, then I usually don't leave any comments unless I find something that's an absolute and total disgrace. Like, here's a comment I left on an article called "Why I Love Sonic": You apparantley have played the Sonic games way out of order. And wait, what's this you said about Sonic 3? "It was the first game I played where you get to play as Sonic's best friend, Tails." WRONG! Tails made his debut on Sonic 2! Come on, man! Everyone knows that! And you've never owned a Sega Genesis until 1998? That's sad, man. That system was long dead by then. I find it disturbing that you enjoyed a lot of Sonic games that were really bad. Not to mention this article is loaded with a lot of spelling and gramatical errors. THUMBS DOWN.
Looking back at it, I noticed that I misread something, so I take back some of the things I said there.
Overall, I find it very unfair that you're giving back talk to comments like these: I'm really getting tired of Star Wars articles, but thumbs up anyway. I really like how you set up the article, plus it was very well-written.
but not to comments like these?: What a fucking shitty ass show. Disney's best TV cartoons would be DuckTales, Gummi Bears, TaleSpin, Darkwing Duck and Rescue Rangers. This show was just shit, the movie was better.
That comment was left by grindcorefan on TreyVore's article: "Great Shows: 101 Dalmatians". So you guys are going to let comments like that slide, yet you're going to get on me for making comments that are nowhere near as mean as that?
Well?
