The Simpsons was good for seasons 3-8. I liked the first two seasons when I was younger, but now I watch those seasons for nostalgia.

Family Guy is good as well.

      So I will say both.

The Simpsons. Come on. They're cultural icons.
Garfield: "My car is so old, that it's insured against theft, flood, fire and dinosaur stampedes!"

Garfield: "The local bus transit is doing their part to help with the weight loss program: each year, they stop further and further away from the curb!

The Simpsons would kick Family Guys ass any day of the week and twice on a Sunday.

I pick Family Guy, since the episodes the make nowadays are still good, unlike The Simpsons.

I like both The Simpsons and Family Guy but my vote would go to The Simpsons.

The Simpsons got mundane but Family Guy got ANNOYING!!! And Seth McFarlane looks and sounds like a smug prick. The writing has gotten noticeably lazy on that show the past number of seasons. Peter Griffin is not even a funny idiot, he's just irritating. It's like they've made him progressively stupider and more annoying as the show's gone on. Also, I get a lot of the pop-culture references but then there's a bunch on there that aren't funny and just seem like they were randomly thrown together, because I'm sure anybody who watches Family Guy would even notice that Martin Landau spits when he talks or that Minnie Driver's head is huge. Seriously. That show got so douchey.

I'm a fan of both. I think The Simpsons is past its prime and should just bow out with grace and dignity. I don't think Family Guy has the staying power of The Simpsons, but I don think that, nowadays, it is far superior, and the most obvious heir apparent to the Simpsons' throne.

I feel like both are fading. I don't detest the new Simpsons episodes as much as some, but I feel like if we have gotten to the point where every last minor character gets an episode about themselves, we can just end it. Preferably awesomely though. As for Family Guy, how many minute long jokes to we need? The first time, it's absolutely hilarious. The 12th time, it is ironically funny. The 20th time, Screw McFarlane.
                                  Oh yeah?

The Simpsons by far, Family Guy has been crap for most of this season.

I believe if it wasn't for the invention of the "Simpsons" there never would have been a "Family Guy"

I like the older episodes of The Simpsons; the new ones aren't that good. As for Family Guy, I think it's okay but I never really got into it. So yeah, I'm going with The Simpsons. I actually like Futurama better than both of them though:D
