Its my thoughts that the show is just sending itself off with bad reputation. the past seasons have ben nothing but horrible episodes. Seasons 5 to about 14 are what i like to think of the golden age. Don't get me wrong I love the show one of the all time greats on tv but why would such a good show take such a long fall.

Matt Groening seems to be focusing on political statements rather than pure comedy these days....so, yeah...a lot of today's shows seem to be lacking the 'allusions' to politics and they tend to just go for the throat. It's rather disappointing to see them do this, as they're just segregating themselves. Not only are they removing themselves from the viewing schedules of anyone right-of-center, but they're losing the humor that originally kept people watching.

There aren't even any good climax solutions now. I saw two episodes lately, one where Marge robbed Mr. Burn's house, she apollogiesed, and THAT WAS IT. No good change up! They used every joke and now characters are bleaker than ever! GAH! NOW I MADE MYSELF MAD AND CAN'T STOP TYPING IN ALL CAPS!

I survive mainly on reruns when it comes to the Simpsons. Anything from Season 2 through 6.
