I'll decide when the time comes. To me, all that matters is the game library. I'm especially interested in the so-called "backwards compatibility" of this console. This should mean many available games. However, it would need a killer-app of it's very own to get me to buy. Preferably one available at launch. XBOX360's library so far isn't really to my taste, so I won't be getting one of them yet, especially after all these reports of malfunctions. But perhaps by then, the problems will be ironed out and the games available will be superb. Who knows?
PS3 is of course, a Sony product which immediately makes me wary. I don't want the kind of restrictions that Sony are notorious for using on their products. I despise their anti-piracy tactics, as well as their advertising tactics and I just don't like the products they sell, what with the extortionate prices and sub-par quality. The worst pair of headphones I've ever owned were from Sony. It sounded like a laptop speaker.
Doesn't mean I won't be keeping my eye out for the PS3 though.
Throughout my life, I've always been pleased with what Nintendo have offered. Perhaps not so much the Gamecube or N64, but NES and SNES were the best consoles I've ever had. And when it comes to handhelds, Nintendo can't be beat, what with the enormous library of GB-GBA games and the constant flow of fantastic titles for the DS. Sure, PSP has more functionality, but I'd rather conserve the battery life for gaming rather than firmware that's preparing to run programs I'll never have any use for. Besides, I have an Axim to do all the media crap .
