I'd say both commercials were circa 1995.
The EA Sports commercial was sort of a flagship ad for all of their sports video game franchises like Madden NFL, NBA Live, FIFA and NHL right before the transition to the Playstation generation. It started out with the trademark voice of EA Sports saying "A long time ago, someone said, 'I'm better than you, and I can prove it.'" It then quickly detailed the history of competitive sport from ancient gladiator times up until modern professional sports with intercut clips of next generation works-in-progress.
The Pop-Tarts commercial involved a giant Strawberry guy leaving his home/family to walk to work with a briefcase and being abducted in his neighborhood by men in black suits and sunglasses in a white van.
