I had a rather traumatizing hairstyle as a child. My mother took me to "Antonio", some sort of hairstyling God...apparently. We drove an hour to get to his salon. I was quite young, maybe 4 or 5 years old.
Anyways, he shaved my head, gave me spikes and a rat tail. Picture this, on a little girl. Now if that wasn't the making for a future lesbian, I don't know what was.
Luckily, I lived past all that...with many hours of counselling.
When I was little, I thought that Mohawks looked cool! Of course, given my age, I never had one, and would've downright stupid with one. How many black girls do you see walking around with a Mohawk? lol
That aside, when I was six/seven I had a Carefree Curl, seen in this pic of me here (age 6):
When I was about five or six I really wanted a flat-top, but my mum wouldn't let me get one. I'm not sure why I was obsessed with the flat-top haircut, but it could have something to with the fact that this was in the era of Top Gun, and I grew up on an Air Force base...
my parents always made me wear my hair in a pony tail with bangs (not poofed up, just straight bangs) and i HATED it. ironically, after toying with different hairstyles since then, i've gone right back to the ponytail and bangs. damn you mom and dad!
