I am wondering if anyone has an opinion on what to to with Superman's kid in the sequel to Superman Returns (assuming that they don't just reboot the whole franchise). I think that the movie's villian should be Braniac who at some point, hopefully early, in the movie kills him. It would establish Braniac as a real evil character and give Superman a reason to let loose and kick the hell out of someone. Maybe Braniac could even use the kid's remains to make Bizarro. I don't know, just an idea.

Any other thoughts on what to do with the kid?

Since Superman Returns was kind of a follow up to the first couple of Christopher Reeve Superman movies I thought that Lois got pregnant from the scene in Superman 2 where Superman sacrificed his powers so he could get laid.

They didn't really go into that in Returns. The kid seemed really weak the entire movie and then he throws a grand piano at some guy near the end. Giving Superman a kid was just a bad idea and he should be written out somehow.

Fair enough. Maybe they don't have to kill him but they should find some way to get rid of him.

Maybe it's not really Superman's kid. Maybe the kid actually IS Braniac. Ok, that's a lame idea, but they could think of something.

Umm..please..reboot the franchise. If they can make these movies decent, and change my opinion on Superman I might actually like him.

If they made a reboot they could make a Batman vs. Superman movie. It would probably be really campy though.

The last Superman came out a little over two years ago, right? Yeah, I think it's ready for a reboot. I'd like to see either Hayden Christensen or Shia Labeouf as the new gritty Superman.

Hayden Christensen or Shia Labeouf?!? Those guys are a little small to be playing Superman aren't they? Superman should be at least 6'2" or 6'3". His height was fine, but I actually think Brandon Routh needed a little more muscle. Maybe another 10-15 pounds. Batman wears armor so you can get a smaller guy to play him but Superman needs to be a big guy.

Shi Labeouf? I just laughed my ass off.

Just use the guy from Smallville and make it semi-canotical to the show, but really just it's own universe.

They should get Brandon Routh back and give him another shot at the role.

How about the guy who will play Goku in the new Dragonball movie. He's the Shia Labeouff of tomorrow.

I think they should just start all over and reboot the whole franchise.

If they do I hope they have have a cold and exacting Lex Luther, I was never happy with any of the various actors who portrayed him, they all had too much character in their personalities and they all seem to blather out so much talk. I always envisioned Lex Luther to be almost stoic, calm, brilliant with an undercurrent of calculating intentions and a sort of high society demeanor about him.

I'd like Superman to wear a long black trenchcoat and be all disturbed and tormented about being an invincible alien living in a world he doesn't understand. He could could kill every living thing on Earth in an instant if he wanted to. He should be tormented by that fact and cut himself up with razor blades as punishment whenever he thinks such destructive thoughts. That's what I'd like to see. It'd be a real thinking mans super hero movie.

Should he also have long hair that covers his face but eyes that seem to peak from underneath with heavy black eyeliner and wax poetic on how Lex Luther torments his soul. You know, a modern interpretation of Smallville.
