Although I hate daytime talk shows, nothing was funnier than when Jenny Jones would have some wanna-be rapper singing on her show. Completely horrible, but in a good way.

Heyo Ole girl form the Cosby Show Vanessa (Tempestte Bledsoe) she had a Talk show for like a month! It was jank though. Not to mention that she had dyed her hair BLONDE during the show too. It was doomed from the get go!

The best talk show was BY FAR Mortin Downey Jr.'s....

The one he had when he was based out of NY in the mid 80's, with the giant MOUTH logo and his HUGE pile of spent cigarettes. He'd have like the KKK on, and his "studio audience" of like 100 drunk New Yorkers, all yelling and jeering...and he'd be one step short of punching half of his guests, getting in their face. What a great show.

Believe me, Jerry Springer's show was a joke compared to Downey's, because Jerry was more of a PT Barnum.

Mortin would get in the camera and smoke and be like "Yeah, I SMOKE, I LIKE SMOKING....TOUGH!". How IRONIC years later he dies from smoking at such a relatively young age. Har Har Har. Oh well, at least he walked the walk. :)

christ, the camilla scott show was perhaps the most embarrassing thing to watch. it was a poor attempt at being tough with "hard-hitting" questions of the time, while trying to be endearing at the same time.

                    quel crap!

can't say i saw jonovision, but he's actually funny on trailer park boys.

He's actually a really nice guy and super funny in person too.

Did anyone see him on Joe Schmo 2? He played the "Not-So-Gay Guy" or something to that effect.

Thats how Morton Downey Jr. because "known", for his talk show.

I am pretty sure it went semi-national at some point, but I only remember him from either WPIX or WWOR...one of those two New York channels....on late at night.

He'd stand there smoking the entire show, with his sleeves rolled up or his cuffs undone, being his loudmouth self.

What was sad..was that after awhile, as he gained more and more recognition, the fame thing happened. You know, the shows got more and more absurd, the crowd went from people off the street to "College Frat Boys" a-la Springer, and it became a joke. Then the whole "I got mugged in the bathroom by Skinheads" and drawing the swastika backwards on his forehead...soooo sad :)

Talk Shows used to be, you know, real. Even if you think back in the 70's to the Merv Griffin and Dinah Shore shows, those were basically late-night type shows on during the day.

But today even the nightly talk shows are a joke...they only exist for people to pimp their current movie or album, its lame...I can't watch them anymore because its always someone just selling something.

I used to enjoy Letterman back when he'd do thinks like the Alka-Seltzer suit and the Velcro suit.....today I can't watch any of that stuff.

I used to love watching Morton Downey Jr. It made Jerry Springer look like Ophra. But I agree with Headrush, though. After a while, it got really boring.

I also remember Jerry Springer when he had an entirely different format. He used to have the most heart touching stories on the air. Kids with cancer and people who had really horrible things happen to them like disfiguring car wrecks and such. It was actually quality stuff. Not the modern "Neo-Nazi Skinheads who have sex with their cousin's sheep and the spouses who support them" type stuff.

I was going to mention this, too. The last episode I remember watching was one dealing with vitaligo. He looked a lot better back then, too. I never did like the hairstyle he is sporting these days. His old hairstyle was a lot more clean-shaven.

What was the name of that fake talk show in the mid-90s that was hosted by some guy named Dick? 1-800-go-diki! I think it might have the word 'night' in it.

I think that was from the early years of the Springer show (Around '91 or '92).

I never took Richard Bey seriously, he was just too funny!

Jenny Jones...I always loved the episodes with "You used to tease me in high school, now I'm a success!" And they haven't done anything with their lives except look like whores and make money off their bodies instead of their minds. Oh, and when she had that weird boot camp guy send the delinquents to "backstage boot camp." Like that ever solves anything.

Ricki Lake...too annoying for me to deal with.

Sally...I actually enjoyed her show. She was brutally honest and she did care about changing people's lives (at least from my perspective.)

Maury...before the show was nothing but "I'm 10,000 percent sure the 13th man tested is the father" and shows exploiting overweight babies and people with severe disabilities, he had kids with attitudes, and all he would do is have some dude named Dee West come out and scream in their face.

I vaguely remember Donahue, but don't remember much about him.

I'll admit, I do watch a talk show every now and then when I need a break, but most of the time I am embarassed for the people on them.
