Good stuff.
Yeah, that entire soundtrack was tight! Even the gay trancy songs were badass. I even liked the songs from bands I don't particularly care for (Gravity Kills, Type O Negative)
As for the fight scenes, I just had problems with them and didn't think they were very well thought out. For example, Liu Kang vs Reptile, first Reptile is this little lizard thing (like it is through the entire movie) and then it gets thrown into what looks like a statue and then it merges with the statue and becomes Reptile from the game... WHAT?.. Okay, fine, I guess they needed to thow the secret guy in there to get the kids excited, whatever. But then he doesn't really even do anything, Lui Kang does his slow motion kicky thing for a few minutes and that's it. Reptile doesn't do anything except get his ass handed to him by Lui Kang, who doesn't even break a sweat. What's the point?
And then there's the Goro vs Johnny Kage scene. For the whole movie, Goro is represented as this huge, indestructable monster whose been undefeated for centuries, but then Johnny Kage steps in and effortlessly kicks his ass. They should have had Johnny win that fight by the skin of his teeth, or by a stroke of luck.
There's just so many movies out there that have way better fight scenes( Fists of Legend, Iron Monkey, Hero, House of Flying Daggers, Fearless, ect..ect..) that this film is just a waste of time.
