I made a cheesecake with an Oreo crust last Thanksgiving and took it to work.

I like my mother's homemade cheesecake. I have a Frugal Gourmet cook book in which Jeff Smith has his wife's recipe for New York Style Cheesecake and it's the best recipe I ever came across. His wife has never given up the recipe for her cheesecake until that book. The first time my mom and I made it it was a huge hit.

I had New York style cheesecake before and it was really good.

My family and I used to eat out at a place called Just Desserts which was a resturant at the corner of Dupont and Davenport, the place shut down after an employee was shot and killed in a botched robery attempt, but they had the best desserts in Toronto.

My mom had the New York style cheesecake and we kids opted for the chocolate cake. I still love chocolate cake even as a woman of 32 years old.

There is a battle between two wolves inside us all.

One is evil and the other one is good. Which wolf will win? The one you feed the most.

I never liked cheesecake as a kid, nore do I now, same with carrot cake. I don't like the taste or texture. I'll eat it if I have too or if I am desperate. I of course like cheese just not the cake :P

I'm with you on this, except I LOVE me some carrot cake. It's my favorite. But cheesecake is a no go for me.

Hmph! What the hell kind of technicality allows somebody to get away with murder?

Blah, anyway I dun' wanna derail anything. Cheesecake is meh.

Why isn't it called "carrot bread", like zucchini bread and banana bread? (which are both cakey)

All three are :? , or to translate, gag-inducing.

cuz bread doesnt start with a "C", its less catchy. and they call it bread because of the shape in which it is baked.

It's not called carrot bread because you put icing on it, at least that's what I think. I haven't seen zucchini bread or banana bread with icing on it. Btw omg I loveeeeeeee zucchini bread and banana bread.
