    		 Cars 2 is an upcoming computer-animated 3-D film being produced by Pixar Animation Studios and a sequel of the 2006 film Cars. It will be distributed by Walt Disney Pictures, and is scheduled for release mid-2012. Ratatouille producer Brad Lewis takes over from John Lasseter as director.[1] Lasseter mentioned, "This time we’re going international."[2] Cars is the second Pixar film to have a sequel, along with Toy Story.

    anyone think this will be a bad idea?

    mid 12 junior will be 9-10 years old and i doubt that the auidnce that is into the original and the die cast toys spun off of the movie will still hold the interest.. and i don't think this movie is anywhere near the classic movie that Monsters inc. and the toy storys were.

    cars was/is a good movie but it's not timeless disney.
    it was a good commercial to sell toys to my kid tho.

        		 Isn't all the shows we know and love nothing but glorified commercials?

        Besides, it's probably going to suck. Most Disney sequels do.

            		 I don't think this is a bad idea at all. It would not only be a Disney sequel but a sequel to a Pixar movie as well. And there hasn't been a sequel to a Pixar movie since Toy Story 2 came out and that movie was actually good. So I have hopes for how Cars 2 will turn out.

                      I never liked Cars. In the abstract, it was an ok film, but it didn't feel like Pixar.

                        		 I personally don't think the first Cars film was any good. Pixar are going to have to pull off something miraculous to avoid suffering at the box-office
