My brother was reading that you can make a boot disk that will allow you to play SNES Roms on PS2. I did something similar to this a few years ago for a Dreamcast we no longer have.

Well, most websites try to sell this "boot disk". But then my brother read on another forum that it's a scam and you can't make a boot disc that'll let you do that. Is this true?

It is Probably Most Likely Just a Scam, it's like spam email they always try to sell stuff to people that nobody wants.

It isn't a scam, it is possible. However, you can make your own somehow but you need a modded PS2 and it just isn't worth the risk buddy.

So tell me. How do you know that it is actually possible to make one? Do you have a friend that actually made one or something?

Probably not. I have not heard such a thing for the PS2. I have however, heard its possible (and easier) on an X-box, but I dont own one, so I cant say for sure. Its just better to stick to it on a computer, PSP, or play the original cartridge.

Here's a working SNES emulator for PS2 - the site includes step-by-step instructions that detail how to burn it on a CD:

Sorry about that. I learned of it from someone I met at the J&J. It is a flea market and they had it working on a TV. I was awed.

Yeah my friend has his PS2 Modded to play Roms and ISOs. Also has a WD Hard drive (Not the crappy PS2 HD) installed. I would do it if I wasnt so lazy, but I can play roms on my PSP or PC (Which has a 21in monitor and a controller) so I didn't bother.

Thanks, it seems that the SNES emulator for PS2 still has a way to go so it can be done right. I read that it's better to mod the PS2, but I'm not trying that.
