Retrogamer92 6 years 4 months ago Posts: 384	I like Pokemon better, but when I was a kid, I watched Digimon because I didn't get Kids WB so I couldn't watch Pokemon. It would have been interesting to have had a crossover in the early years of both shows.

SSJ Jup81 6 years 4 months ago Posts: 4806	I liked both too. Now if it's a fight between the Digimon and the Pokemon, I'd have to say that the Digimon would overpower the Pokemon. For example, an Agumon (known for fire attacks) could actually fight against a water-type Pokemon without its being a weakness for the Agumon. With Digimon, the only thing that seems to be a factor is the evolution level. Agumon is a child-level Digimon. Fighting against something like a...um...Angemon, who is an adult level, would cause Agumon to have a hard time, and would probably lose.

SSJ Jup81 6 years 4 months ago Posts: 4806	Digimon that evolve naturally don't devolve either and not all Digimon have human partners with Digivices that allow them to evolve and devolve, so the argument you presented is kind of a moot point. If you notice, the only Digimon who actually kept switching levels, were those with human partners.

I've said this before, if blueluigi actually watched the show, he'd see that neither are rip offs. Monster fighting series were the "in thing" at the time. It's like in the mid 80s, Japan started up Koala-based animated series because, at the time, Koalas were popular. Adventures of the Little Koala and Noozles came out close together. Same goes for the mid 90s (iirc), both Yu-gi-oh and Card Captor Sakura came out round about the same time. Series based on card games, at the time, were popular, hence series based around them. Neither is a rip off of the other. Both series are way too different anyway. Both series just deal with cards, just like both Pokemon and Digimon both deal with monsters.

If the viewers are watching it or playing it, of course they'll actually continue to please the audience. It's like in the US. The thing now are Reality Shows. Every week, it seems like a new one pops up from out of nowhere. Why do we keep getting them? Because the public likes them. The same can be said about which shows get animated in Japan. There are the type of series that will always be popular (usually stuff dealing with ninja or samurai) and then the stuff that just pops up, like the card game thing in the 90s and the Koala thing in the 80s. As far as stuff like Pokemon, Monster Rancher, and Digimon, all three series probably were allowed an animated series since their games were popular enough for an actual animated franchise and, to my knowledge, each of these series had enough fans for them to finish their stories (minus Pokemon).
