Funky Guy 6 years 4 months ago Posts: 2638 Account Disabled	I never liked them either or get what people see in Neil Peart, he only has that one drum fill he does over and over again (the one where he hits all 35 toms on his kit in quick succession.) I like some prog, especially Yes and King Crimson. I've never heard one thing from Rush that I thought touched the greatness of King Crimson's Red album or Yes' Close to the Edge album.

elron 6 years 4 months ago Posts: 693	I love Rush. Saw them in concert and wasn't disappointed. The 2112 and Farewell to Kings albums are both full of great stuff. I'm not a big fan of anything recent though, and hate Tom Sawyer. I think Yes sucks, and I wouldn't even compare King Crimson to them.

Always listed as one of the best BASSISTS of all time. He plays the bass, the synth, and sings. Name one other fucking musician that could possibly pull off that much ridiculousness. Alex Lifeson, in the upper eschelon of guitarists in the world. Now, due to Geddy's high singing, a lot of people hate Rush. Screw you, then. Being able to reach those notes without a kick to the crotch is a little thing called talent. If you cannot appreciatte some of the best musicians ever, you first need to look at yourself. Listen to Spirit of Radio. Is there a chance in the world you could ever play that guitar part? NO, there isn't. Listen to Tom Sawyer. Could you possibly switch between Bass and Synthesizer that quickly, while also singing? NO. Listen to Limelight. Can you play the drums anywhere near as good as that? Hell No. Now listen to the epics. 2112, By-tor and the snow dog, The Cygnus duology, the camera eye, Xanadu, and La Villa Strangiato. Can you play like that consistently without stopping? NO? Then Shut the ever loving hell up. And yes, Catra, that does make you a bad canadian.

Now while I still think that they rule, I will admit that there are better drummers and bassists than Neil Peart and Geddy Lee, and that there are better songwriters than the group, and that the production on said albums may not be that impressive. Even then, I still like the band, and I don't see anything wrong with doing so.
