    Hi,

    Is it true on the Rolling Stones' 1969 classic song "Gimm(i)e Shelter" (from the Let It Bleed LP) that there was probably originally some extra guitar solos by Keith Richards where Mick Jagger's harmonica playing is now? In other words, didn't Keith play extra guitar on early versions of GS in the same places where Mick J.'s harmonica parts are present on the final version?

    The reason I am asking is because Mick J. does not play harmonica on this song in live performances.

      I don't know the answer to that but I do know there is an early version of that track with Keith Richards on vocals and his singing is actually really good on it I think.

      You can hear it on this youtube video starting at 3:07;

      An early version of Street Fighting Man precedes it.
