I feel bad for kids in the 13 - 18 age range, kids that have never known a world without the internets. I feel like the internet is a greater burden on todays society then any of the benefits it has. The social skills of kids today are not what they once where, they have grown up anonymous on message boards or texting or online voice chat in video games. The simple form of basic human contact is not there anymore. Technology has created a hermit society that just hasn't effected are youth but are adult's as well. At least if you're in your mid to late 20's you remember a time when there was no internet. A time where you didn't have to be entertained 24/7. You could be stimulated by taking a simple walk out side. We didn't have droves of keyboard warriors, internet tough guys that piss there pants at human hostility. Are supposed greatest creation the internet, will be are greatest downfall. A emotionless heard of sheep. God Save Us ALL. Are you sure you want to delete this post? Yes | No

I'm starting to think the same thing. Alot of people here have been talking about how crappy our generation is, but not as long and as detailed as you have. I mean, is this shit really bummin you out that bad?Are you sure you want to delete this post? Yes | No

I can agree with most of the statement, but I don't think I feel as strongly about it as you do.
Besides, every new generation has something to deal with that the past generation can't understand, and it seperates them and gives them unique advantages as well as unique downfalls.
Their challange is to learn to balance, and it will be harder and require much more self motivation that our generation needed. They will survive. Coddling them is a mistake.(medicating them is too)Are you sure you want to delete this post? Yes | No

You know what? I have a feeling that guys like me are going to be the old men you see playing with their grandchildren in parks, while guys like you are going to be the old men on the porch yelling to keep off the grass.

I sort of agree, but every generation seems to 'deteriorate' according to the last generation. This is because people hate change.
Like Maklu IV said, I'm not going to be a crabby old guy on the porch but, I am going to spend time with my kids and teach them those valuable social skills."It's all a joke! Everything anybody ever valued or struggled for... it's all a monstrous, demented gag! So why can't you see the funny side? Why aren't you laughing?" - Batman: The Killing Joke

Yes there will be kids playing outside.
The next generation will rebel and go outside.
It's almost a nessesity to go against whatever your parents loved about society.
Kids today love the internet, so their kids will turn on it.Are you sure you want to delete this post? Yes | No

Well i am around a lot of young people all day at work and i rarley see this kind of behavior. Besides whats wrong with being a hermit, i myself takw great pride in being a hermit but i also have very good social skills with people. And evryone has an addiction of some sort what addiction do you have. That being said i have one question for you, have you ever thought how many freaks there are in the world, and have you ever thought to think that those people that stick out in a crowd full of people that you obviously dont like may think your a bigger freak than them for ragging on them and accesing over it. As for me though i take great pride in being a freak, i have been considered a freak my whole life because i hardly talk to people but im ok with it if people have that perception of me than so be it. Freaks unite

Im just saying diffrent aspects of a persons personality may lead some people to think that they are odd or weird, like me i know a piro and like to thrive off of my own personal pain that i have been through. For me pain only grows me to be more of a srong willed individual. Im just saying that people lable what they cant understand and they run from it instead of actually talking to that person and encouraging that person to be diffrent. Are you sure you want to delete this post?
