So im a fan of Independent films, does anyone have any to recommend?

Just don't recommend anything with subtitles, they are so distracting.

If my friend ever releases his movie he made in 2004, I'd say check that out. I helped out on the film and had to be an extra in a 'strip club' scene. The extras they hired to in the crowd had left early. You can catch me handing off a $20 and there's a shot from over my shoulder.

The movie is called Black Days. It's about an ex-con who gets out of prison. A prostitute asks him to help her escape her pimp, who is an old associate of his. Its a crime drama with a lot of action.

hehe, it was filmed for $17,000 and the production made it look like it was much more. A rep from Miramax saw the screening and was very impressed.

Dead Birds. Excellent movie. Has a few "wtf" psychological moments.

I am not certain if it's really an independent movie or just low budget, but i saw "Dead Man" for the first time a couple of weeks ago and loved it.

Yep, I'd say thats an indie film. All of those top name actors wanted to work with Jim Jarmusch. And I'm sure they did so cheaply. Marmusch is a great director.

I love his stuff. I have quite afew of his films. My favourite is Mystery Train. I travel a lot now and whenever I stay in a shitty hotel I think, "Man, just liek a Jim Jarmusch film." I really need to buy a harmonica.
