If anyone has any old tapes with political news coverage, please let me know! I collect these, and would love to have new items in my collection.

I found an old tape recently, not at a sale or anything, just in a box of stuff I picked up from my parents house. It's Star Wars recorded off network TV in Feb. of '84. Before the film there's a little documentary about the Star Wars phenomenon and a little making of documentary afterward. Lots of great old commercials on there like the Reese's peanut butter cup Atari commercial, commercials for the Grammy's that were mostly about Michael Jackson, and a bunch of other stuff. It was a real flashback. That was actually the day we bought our first VCR, so it's pretty sentimental for that reason too. I remember it vaguely, I was only 4, but we got our first VCR specifically to record Star Wars that night.

One of my latest finds at Goodwill is an old recording of ABC
Daytime Soaps like General Hospital. (1991?) Preceding it was
a recording of Steel Magnolias of HBO (1990-1991)

I'm proud to say I found a VHS copy of Dinosaur City at my local Goodwill yesterday. To be honest, even though I watched this a ton as a kid, I had forgotten it existed. I'm anxious to watch it again. I'm sure it's cheesy and awful now, but whatever.

I used to work at Goodwill and would find the most awesome stuff. I found three vhs tapes. Two had alot of Disney Channel shows from the early/late 90's. The other one had two Sesame Street episodes from the early 90's. I would love to find more but i don't work there anymore. But it was fun while it lasted.

I buy vhs tapes recorded between 1980 to 1993, that include commercials. I'm especially interested in sitcoms and Saturday morning cartoons, but would consider others. Paying up to $10 per tape, depending on what tv shows were recorded.

So glad someone started a thread about this..

I was at the swapmeet one time and I picked up this VHS for 50 cents that read "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II & OC news" ..I fig'd ehh, maybe there's some good commercials in between.. popped it in the VCR when I got home and there was some funny stuff like this Joe Dirt looking karate instructor with a epic mullet doing a demonstration on the news.. But what's crazy is I get about halfway through TMNT2 only to find the rest is recorded over with a family vacation to Disneyland in 1998.. they filmed most of the park and rides then after their day at the park, they go to some Disneyland hotel party... It's so weird watching some random family enjoying their trip and acting all goofy.. pun intended.

Ha! Awesome find dre_w. I can see myself watching that all the way through, just to see how the park has changed from '98 to now.

EDIT: Errr wait... you said DisneyLAND. I've only been to Disney World. But still...

Thanks man, yeh everything at the park had a different look to it. Even the style/people. Everyone was just wearing casual loose fit jeans, t-shirts, collared shirts.. you didn't see any guys wearing tight jean girl pants, indie/hipster/scene/swag kids, people standing in line staring at their cell phones, no one with earbuds in listening to their ipods.. everyone just seemed so normal and enjoying their time at the park.

Still a time when you actually had to entertain yourself with your own thoughts and ideas, instead of burying your nose into a smart phone at the slightest inkling of boredom.

Found more than 40 tapes recorded as early as 1987, from TV stations in California, Arizona, Florida, North Carolina and New York.

Can I have your email address? I'm interested in taking the tapes off your hands, if you want to, of course.

Do you still have that Disney Channel tape? What's all on it? Also, does anyone have Pepper Ann on their tapes? Please let me know if you do.

Hello! This is a great thread.

I am looking for the TV edited versions of The Breakfast Club and Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Actually I am just looking for audio of the terrible editing of the profanity:

ie: "Flip You!", "Pardon my french, but you're an aardvark," "Cameron is so tight if you stuck a lump of coal in his fist, in two weeks you'd have a diamond", etc...

If anyone has this (or really any terrible TV edit) on any format, I would love to see it.

                                          Thanks!
