When I was in middle school, my school made a rule that you have 1 hour of year book signing and then the staff take it and they analized it to see if there are no offences in it. That's complete total bullshit, I hid it in my locker so no one would take it.

The year I got into eighth grade, which is supposed to be the first year you get a lot of freedom in choosing classes (in our area at least), they suddenly started requiring more classes!

There were the usual rules we went along with, but one unusual one is that every few months they would gather all of us together in one room and tell us that our grooming habits were poor. They were generalizing and I didn't like that. I always wondered why couldn't the kids with poor grooming be told of their errors in private? Why did they have to gather us all together? And for the record, this was a small BOCES class gathered together, separate from the main school, as we pretty much always were, except for the occasional thing in the auditorium.

figment1988 6 years 6 months ago Posts: 110	when i was at tech school (which was also a high school), there was this one rule where nobody could wear a jacket that didn't bear the logo of the school. when i heard about that rule, i felt that this was a inside scheme to 1: bring "school pride", and 2: a good way to screw the students out of their money (the jackets were $36, which is the same price of 3 school shirts)

JK Yoda 6 years 6 months ago Posts: 795	Stupidest rule we had was when i was in middle school and our principle would wear yellow like everyday... and he was HUGE. We couldnt call him "Twinkey" One time they suspended 19 kids in one day for that. Looking back i kinda feel sorry for the guy.

zilly 6 years 6 months ago Posts: 723	Well in 5th grade they tried to ban any physical contact not really pda's since this was 5th grade but like any type of touching so at lunch the lunch monitors would walk around yelling "no Physical Contact" even when me and my riends would play hand clapping games or whatever it was so stupid

So every dress down day I wear one of my jesus shirts or a cannibal corpse t-shirts. My one teacher flipped when they saw my wretched spwan t-shirt. oh and back in grade school they band gameboys, pokemon cards, bey blades, yu-ghi-oh cards, crazy bones, baseballs, baseball bats, dodgeball games, tackle foot ball and thy sold half our play ground becasue they were afraid some one would die on the fire poll.

RetroJessica1985 6 years 6 months ago Posts: 87	I went to a private highschool and at one point you were allowed to wear flip flops and colored shirts under the white button up and then one day the principal just decided to ban flip flops and colored t shirts, i duno why i think it had to do with how it didnt look good with the school uniform. We also weren't allowed to dye our hair any bold rainbow colors or have any peircings that are visable.

Chad1992 6 years 6 months ago Posts: 112	I'm done 8th grade now going to High School, but when I was in 8th grade we still had to walk with a class in a straight line to go to lunch and it's like we did that crap back in Kindergarten and Elementary schools. Also tucking in your shirt was another dumb rule, I normally didn't tuck in my shirt and I would get a detention for it!
