thank God I'm not the only person who realizes this. I've been arguing with people for years that Zelda is not a fucking RPG, I should know, I've played everything from Pen & paper D&D to text based, to The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and everything in between. Its what I do, its what I know, do not question that.
Zelda II: the Adventure of Link, ironically being the only one with the word 'Adventure' in the title is the only one that isn't an adventure but is actually an RPG and is the ONLY Zelda game that is an RPG.
I never beat Zelda II because I would always get too far into the game and forget where I left off and what I was supposed to do next. Thank God for the journal/diary system in today's RPGs...
I don't know how anyone anywhere was ever expected to finish Wild Arms on PS1 cuz I even had the strategy guide to that game and couldn't beat it. So did Dragon Warrior 4, that game is impossible to beat without a map of some sort. The little 2 kilobyte ocean was... well I thought, waaaaaaay too big for a 2D NES RPG.
Too easy to get lost in unless you go one space at a time and count. okay I'm rambling, sorry yall
