    Sorry I don't have much to say about this. I just thought it was interesting.

      I saw that too. The guy who does those lists looks like a flaming fagmosexual and has shitty tastes.

        Although I can't stand the Smiths or the Cure otherwise that's a pretty decent list. In a few cases I really like the artist but can think of a better best of album from them;

        The Doors - They never made it to cd but 1970's 13 and 1972's Weird Scenes Inside the Goldmine are excellent compilations and no material is repeated between the two albums.
        There was a really good 2 cd best of on Rhino a few years back too called Legacy.

        I wasn't that impressed by the Pink Floyd Echoes best of, I think people are better off buying the regular albums. 1971's Relics and 1981's A Collection of Great Dance Songs are better chosen best ofs.

        I don't think the Beatles' 1 was programmed well either, too much Paul led stuff in the second half. The Red and Blue albums are better best ofs in my opinion.

        The Who's Meaty Beaty... is a top notch collection, rounding up the group's early, mostly non album singles. The 2 cd Ultimate Collection is a great best of that focuses on a wider time span. 1983's Greatest Hits and 2004's Then and Now are good for career spanning one disc best ofs.

        I don't think I saw any of the Stones' best ofs on there. I recommend The Singles Collection London Years, Hot Rocks 1 and 2, Rewind or Jump Back over 40 Licks.

          Jesus Christ, even professional pop culture writers write shitty 'best of' list articles.

          There's hope for the RJ wannabes yet...

            I hate "best of" and "Greatest Hits" alums. If you like a song, get the album it originally comes on. It's usually on that album for a reason and it usually flows with the songs before and after it.

              I can get into them when they're very good and well programmed. The 70's had a whole slew of double album best ofs with pretty well chosen material and rare stuff it's hard to find otherwise but overall I tend to prefer an artist's original albums too.
