    i hope this is the right place. I've always noticed this on many articles, i've noticed that some of you don't watch out for the weird characters that replace ' and ".

    what they turn into, are these: "“" and "”"

    just getting the word out

      Actually, I ve seen this too. It tends to happen when people use computers where English is not the first language of their computer. But, I'm sure this is not the only reason.

          yes. in some instances they turn into ? as well

            I've had it happen to me as well, and I can tell you this computer is set for english.

            I'd chalk it up to the fact that Retrojunk's article writing capabilities are not user friendly and generally suck.

              I think it should be a rule that the approvers should check for those BEFORE aprroving the article. My interest in reading diminishes by seeing a sentence that look&*(&*(s Lik#$^%e th*()*)^^&&s don&*(*(*^t u feel the s@#%me wa&%&y?
