I like Spencer's Gifts used to go in there everytime I went to the Mall that's closest to me. It closed down a few years ago so now I can't go to a Spencer's Gifts as often the closest one to me now is accross the river.
It's OK, next time I'll make you listen. I wish that it were in the power of all children to say that to their parents and to know that indeed they would be heard as we were in those wonderful days on Waltons Mountain.Narrator The Waltons (From the Runawa

one of my favorite stores in middle school in the late 90s. i'm surprised my mom didn't object to going in there. i mostly bought posters and the occasional cool lamp. there's one mall in my area that still has one but i've grown up now and find their merchandise too trashy to go in.

More of a Hot Topic girl myself, but I remember buying a Care Bears pocket folder from Spencers when I was younger. It closed in my town a few years later. :(

Spencer gifts has become Hot Topic for the Larry the Cable guy crowd.

Even in the 80s it was a pretty bad store though, the sex stuff isn't new. this was THE place to go if you wanted a poster for your room of girls in thongs.

Back in the 1990s I bought an official Scream mask at a Spencer gifts, now every time I go, I'm disappointed by the fact they don't sell movie memorabilia any longer and now it's basically sex toys and shirts that are too small to fit a very tall man such as myself

Yeah. There's too much crap everywhere. They forgot to leave some room for the customers I guess.

I've always liked Spencer's for all their novelty lights, such as lava lamps, blacklights, disco lights, those globes with the lightning bolts (don't remember what they're called), etc., posters and rock 'n' roll paraphernalia, as well as many other items reflecting the psychedelic era of the late 1960's/early 1970's and the disco era of the mid/late 1970's! I still have a neon KISS lamp in my bedroom I bought from Spencer's around 12 years ago, along with a blacklight and several blacklight posters! I've always liked the "psychedelic incense" smell when you walk into the store! Of coarse, they also sell incense!!!

I think that last thing I bought from there was a Homer

The last thing I got there was a Pinky and the Brain shirt last year.

They sell a little bit of nostalgia stuff. I live near 3 different stores. One is tiny, one is medium, and one is huge.

Speaking of which last time I was in there I was so crowded I could barely look at their very small shirts.

I remember going in there from the late 80's through early 2000's as a kid and young adult but now as a parent its not really a place Id want them to frequent. When I went there the last time as was stated earlier it was all sex toys and playboy crap right at the front of the store. Back in the day it was usually far to the back. Plus as someone mentioned its always crowded and most people there aren't even really trying to buy something just have a laugh at the merchandise.

Spencer's is one of me and my girlfriend's favorite places to shop. I've been going there since I was a teenager. Nowadays I usually buy Tapout and Xtreme Couture shirts there.

The exact reason I don't go in there.

I only just heard of it a year ago when someone suggested getting my Father and his buddies for their 60th Bdays.
