Watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory(2005), so have you seen both movies and a couple questions...

1.Should I make an article about the original and remake?

    2.How was Violet Bearugarde bad?
Ex. Gloop was greedy, Salt was spoiled, and Teavee well I dunno?
I am Ricky, hear me think! :D

I'd like to see an article on the subject. I'd have to give the edge to the Johnny Depp version (sorry, RetroJunkers, it's just my opinion), but it would be interesting to see an article comparing the two.

Violet, besides her unhealthy obsession with gum (which, if you think about it, is no different than Augustus's food addiction, but we find it less evil), was annoying and thought she was better than everyone, much the way Veruca was. In the remake she was also a go getter as vintagefantasy pointed out. Violet is more concerned with being the best at things than being a good person. Frankly out of all of the bad children, I'd have to say that while Violet is the least problematic now, as a grownup she'd be intolerable. Mike would probably be a shut in who doesn't work and watches tv all day and nobody even cares about, Augustus would die at an early age of heart failure or whatever, and Veruca would either grow up to be a Paris Hilton clone, or fail miserably at life because her non family members won't put up with her spoiled brat ways (I can't see someone wanting to marry her). But Violet would grow up to be the insufferable jerk who flies up the corporate ladder and treats everyone like dirt because she's not only willing to step on everyone's backs to get to the top, but she's also probably good at her job so you can't complain about her.

Well, what a coinky-dink! The latest episode of "Is it a Good Idea to Microwave This?" had Gobstoppers being microwaved, and along the way, Jory Caron asked the viewers what their favorite Chocolate Factory movie was!
