And a lady's voice asks the girl what it would be like if she didn't have to do her homework or go to school or have to eat her vegetables. She also mentions having no running water or electricity etc. And in the end we see the girl in tattered clothes with a dirty face and messy hair and she is sitting by a brick wall or a well. And the lady says that no child should ever have to live like this but so many do and how you can help. It was one of those child sponsorship commercials but it still scared me.

I'd also like to mention a recent commercial where a teenage girl trying to buy cigarettes cannot afford the cigarettes, so she rips her skin off. It is an anti-cigarette commercial like most of the ones mentioned here. There is another version of this commercial with a teenage boy pulling his tooth out to pay for cigarettes. It may not be retro but it's still scary.
