Dr Science 9 years 1 month ago Posts: 537	so ep. III, revenge of the Sith hit the streets and I have watched it twice now including the extras. Yes....I was one of those people at Wal-Mart on Halloween night at 1:00am to pick up my copy. and yes.....I was a little drunk. I dont think that it was a particularly good movie(episode III) but it was the best of the prequels by far. Has anyone else found the Yoda breakdancing easter egg yet? Now I wait for the TV series( 2 coming soon)

Badkitty 9 years 1 month ago Posts: 922	I'll admit I went out this morning and bought it too and have already watched it twice. It's not as good obviously as the original trilogy but it's a must have for a fan. I have not explored the dvd enough to find the easter egg but I will def go check it out now, thanks for the heads uo doc.

foxmxer 9 years 1 month ago Posts: 90	I bought it yesterday too. Haven't had a chance to watch it yet though. It's the only Star Wars DVD I own. I'm hoping that eventually Lucas will break down and release the "original" trilogy on DVD, along with a full boxed set of all 6 films.

System 9 years 1 month ago Posts: 74809	I hope Lucas NEVER releases the first three movies un-altered. Why? Because i'm not one of those romantic fanboys who believe that "only the originals are worth watching!"....the originals, in their un-altered state, SUCK. And I saw Star Wars in 78 and 79 about 15 times...but in the 80's and 90's watching it on Video, it was easy to see all the flaws and ugliness in the movie. The effects look tremendously bad, with lots of matte problems....the sound is flat....the ONLY saving grace is that Greedo doesn't shoot first. Seriously, besides that, the SE's are far superior to the originals...and people need to get over themselves. Saying "I want the originals" is like jumping on a bandwagon these days. If you showed people the originals today, unrestored, they'd be like "oh..yeah..that looks kinda crappy, huh". I'm watching on a 106" Projected image in my basement theatre room, I dont want to see big boxes around tie-fighters where the matte process can be seen (1978 technology)...I want them digitally enhanced, damnit! I know people love to go ON and ON about how "ooh the original is so much better" but thats just BS. Those people haven't seen the crappy originals since they were on Cable in like 1994, and everything about them screamed "Please clean me up!". Lucas did that, and more...and then people complain. Oh well.... I personally think Episode III is a very, very good Star Wars movie. Certainly the best of the first three. Its got some lame parts (the Keystone Cops antics of the Robot Army makes me wonder why exactly the entire republic was afraid of this army of buffoon robots), but in terms of visual punch and sound...seriously...its a rollercoaster ride, and the Emperor/Yoda battle is worth the price of admission alone. Haven't bought it yet, but I will eventually.....and give it a looksie.

IV, the whole Jabba the hutt in the Mos Eisly hanger needs to go. it's a waste of time and Han just repeats everything he just said five minutes earlier. Grevious had such potential to kick ass and this scene would have helped to that end. The end of Shaak Ti, and nobody knows it. Also I am pissed about Yodas landing on Dahgobah being cut too. Obviously I am a HUGE star wars fan, and obviously I was let down by the new trilogy......but Revenge of the Sith is watchable....no matter how bad the dialoige is. "Hold me Anni, like by the lake on Naboo"..................................

Daniel85 9 years 1 month ago Posts: 1699	There's so much cool stuff coming out this week, my wallet is about to tear in half from being opened so much. Today I bought the SW: ROTS DVD, SW: Battlefront II (for PS2), Tony Hawk's American Wasteland (for PS2), and the deal at Toys R Us where you get a GBA Micro + Donkey Kong Country 3. I know a couple of these things have been out for a while in the US, but they only came out this week in Australia. I have nothing left to ask Santa for now... Oh, and as for the Shaak Ti scene-- it's cool, but unfortunately not canon as it's been overwritten by stuff elsewhere in the Star Wars Expanded Universe.

foxmxer 9 years 1 month ago Posts: 90	The main reason I'd like to see the originals on DVD is because I wasn't thrilled with the added scenes that Lucas put in. Especially Jabba with Han in Mos Eisley, wasn't there before, didn't need to be there. I like the effects cleaned up and the sound digitized that stuff did need to be done. But I think they should have stopped there. Just my opinion.

System 9 years 1 month ago Posts: 74809	I just got episodeIII, I felt sorry for Obi-wan. The scene where Darth Vader went postal kinda bored me. It was a good explanation of how Vader got into his "suit". The Yoda fight scene was cool.

Predaking 9 years 1 month ago Posts: 920	I agree with Headrusch, I grew up with the original trilogy, I had all the toys, my bedsheets were starwars, I even had Yoda's tee and matching colored undies (remember those). I have and had fond memories and countless hours spent watching episodes IV, V & VI. But the efx in the special edition do make a differance and I enjoyed the prequels alot. That said, the only real beef I have with the prequels is the overuse of CG, I don't mind it for buildings and backgrounds but not for anything alive. Just doesn't seem real. It seems untangible, like you can't touch them with your hand. Other than that, I liked the story and the lightsaber duels.
