i am trying to remeber an arcade game from the early 80's, it was a helicopter game. the game play i rember was something akin to tiger heli, what was unique about it is that it was not a standard arcade case. the case was the cockpit with a realistic helicopter stick and the screen resembled the bubble type windshield from a AH 6 littlebird helicopter . the display was projected on the windshield, making this case huge. i remeber it at a meat market in Laredo TX around 85 or 86, anyone else remember this arcade game?

I don't remember a helicopter one. But I remember one based on Top Gun! Sorry.

        2 I can think of.

        1. could be choplifter, but that's a side scroller

        2. Steel talons, this was a good game using those freaky deeky low res Polgon graphics. on the down side though, it had an annoying knock feature that felt like somone was kicking your seat. I'd allmost allway be yelling at sombody , telling'em not to kick the seat, untill I realized it was the game that was doing it.

It may have been called thunderblade... I remember the game and how it used to wiggle back and forth.

Once I saw a huge fat guy playing it... man he was struggling to hold on.

its not thunderblade or steel talons, im familiar with both and are both from late 80's early 90', this game is pre 85 for sure. it was a huge case because of the projection screen, my brother also remembers this game so at least i know i did not imagine it . it could have been choplifter though i dont remember the gameplay resembling choplifter it was more of a top down perspective. i still think it could hav been tiger heli. i am searching for a picture of this game, stay tuned

On the subject of cool helicopter arcade games....

As a two player thang... wow. One would touch down and grab hostages, whilst the other would cover them... Sometimes you could see a tank trundling towards your mates landed Blackhawk and you'd have to swopp in and destroy it...

                  This was co-op genius...

i have been researching further and now suspect it migth be the laser disc game "cobra command" it would certainly comand an elaborate case and a projection screen, there was a cockpit version made and its listed in KLOV.COM but no images exist of it.
