It must be a special day for Star Wars today. Spike had a weekend special, Fox is premiering Family Guy's spoof of it as I speak, and on one of the direct TV channels, I saw a George Lucas documentry this morning.

I always wondered why the first movie was named "episode 4". Back then did they already plan to make the following 3 movies starting from episode 1. Out of all of the lucas documetries iv'e seen, I don't recall them ever mentioning that.

    Anyone know?

    [/i]find out, I must!

Star Wars Episode IV was originally called just "Star Wars". After its success, George Lucas began to plan its two sequels and three prequels.
