I don't know why there was a shift from positive to negative. I guess people just have differing opinions. You get much respect, though, for being open to criticism.
I thought your previous article was much MUCH too long, and all over the place. I felt you would've been better served to narrow the field down and pick the more important crossovers to write more about and flesh out. (Though I think the length of your article did contribute unintentional meaning to the title "Chaos."
For example: I would've been happy with an article that simply focused on the crossover aspect of "Who Framed Roger Rabbit." A little research into that topic might've uncovered some fascinating details that we hadn't known before. (It might also have been interesting for you to write it!)
Take my most recent article on "Full House" for example. (Not that I'm bragging; I just don't know which other article to use.) I could've written an article listing all of my favorite 80's shows, and done a quick blurb on Full House and gone on. But that would've received average ratings, maybe. Instead, I decided to zero in on Full House. And here's a key point: I didn't re-tell the plot of the show. I chose to write about where the actors are now. I assume that the reader knows about the show and doesn't need me to recap the plot. And quite frankly, they could read the back cover of the DVD and get that information anyway.
And I did some research. This is what the majority of bad article writers here completely fail to do. I actually took time and checked on my facts--which in the end turned out to be fun, because I got to watch some great videos of Jodie Sweetin from "Pants Off Dance Off" and got to go back and re-read some correspondence I had earlier from Candace.
Here's a couple of key points:
(1.) Know what you're writing about inside and out. People will call you on your B.S. if you don't.
(2.) Find out stuff that you didn't know before, and research your topic thorougly. If you tell us stuff we already know, why do we need your article? On the other hand, if we learn something, we're all better for it, right?
(3.) Have fun with your topic! If you have fun with it and go all-out, I will have fun with it too.
(4.) Grammar check. Spell check. I don't care if you don't care. Other people will care, and they will not take you seriously, no matter how much you think that it sucks for them to be that way.
(5.) When in doubt, don't submit. Keep it for a while and work on it till you're just too dang proud of it to keep it to yourself anymore.
