Anyone remember the game Dragon's Lair, with Dirk the Daring and the lovely princess Dafney? I loved this game, but couldn't ever figure out how to play it. The lazer disk animation was really cool, but it was so hard.... big waste of money in my youth just to watch a cartoon for a few minutes. I eventually figured it out when I got it for PC years later.

It also spawned Space Ace, which I played a few times, but never really followed it.

of course i remember dragon's lair. part 1 & 2 were the shit back in the day. i used to spent hours on end perfecting the movements to watch the full animation. best buy sell the aniversary edition with DL1&2 and space ace. it plays on ALL dvd players, and the dvd remote is the control. up down left right and enter being the sword/lazer gun.

Sounds cool. I remember playing a few versions of Dragon's Lair that were on the SNES and I think the NES.

I remember playing it at the arcade and hating it cause I didn't know what to do, but still wanting to play it cause it looked so good.

And for some reason I just remembered this game that used holograms and you looked down on it. Does anyone remember that? I think you were a cowboy or something like that.

Yeah that's the game. The narrator was awful. Remember how holograms were kind of like a sign of things to come back in the late 80s/ealy 90s; yet now they're hardly ever used.

Dragon's Liar was hard as hell. I wasted so much damn money on that game in the arcade it wasn't even funny lol.

The stupid thing with Dragons Lair and Space Ace, is they were literally 'trial and error' games. You didn't know what you were supposed to do... you just had to try a different combination on each screen.. they were kind of like the worlds most unplayable games....

no i beat DL1, 2, and space ace. each level had a combo of buttons to press. 20 bux to beat but it was worth it...i guess. the snes version sucked nuts.

the version of Dragon's lair that i have played was the 20th anniversary re-release arcade machine which was much easier because in one corner of the screen, the button or direction that needed to be pushed would pop up. i also remember Hologram: Time Traveler which i have on DVD.

The Laserdisk style animation of the arcade version was ahead of its time. The NES Version-TOTAL CRAP!!!
