When you are watching cartoon theme songs and your finger slips on the mouse and the Barney and Friends theme tune comes up instead of the theme you really wanted to listen to listed below or on top you will be frightened out of your boots when that drumming in the intro hits before you turn it off.

Now The Fruitties original uncensored intro with the 80s synth sound version of the D'Con intro as well as the uncensored skirt flips and sinister crude looking bad guys included is really scarry especially if the censored version with the no sound in intro is scary already because of the psycodelic ice cream van like background music.

Well it was scary if you were 10 and were also hyperactive and getting excluded from school so because you can't sleep you get up and watch cartoons and that bloody synth logo and psycho music hits and you see that evil crude looking monkey which both were censored in the censored intro.

I don't know if that D'Con logo still scare me or not. I don't have any evidence because all my video taped ones have the sound blanked out censored version of the intro logo although all my taped from Retro Cartoon Network UK ones did have the uncensored intro movie at least so I can't say if I'm still scared but it was some scary logo back then which was probably why CN censored that before they eventrualy started butchering the intro movie with scene cuts showing mostly it's psycodelic Fruittie Pebbles logo on a loop through most of the theme as well.

Finally another synth logo scard me a lot. The original Walt Disney Home Video 86 version with it's tension intro into a distorting ending which the volume was changed to make it less scary in later videos.

Disney themes with Thunder at the start were quite scary and there were quite a lot too. Winnie The Pooh, Chip 'n' Dales Recue Rangers, Talespin.

Most of the ones abouve as well come to think of it.

Only one that scares me still is the Barney drum roll because Barney is the worst show ever so when it hits you have to shout turn the channel quickly to yourself.

Barney's character himself is just as scary as the twitchy pedo fox Honest John from Pinocchio especially as he actually says in front of the kids faces he loves them in the weird voice he has with the weird look he give them at the same time no wonder why they stopped repeating and making new episodes of that rubbish he is scary and I can't beleive I liked him as a kid.

Only the first opening had kids turning into the animations. That one was only used in the pilot. Second one is not scary for CGI that came up in 1983 but still, ugh.

I don't care if it's not a cartoon, I was scared of MMPR. Mainly because of the villains.

I never found any cartoon openings scary, not even when I was little. A few were a little unsettling though; the smurfs, when gargamel causes the earth to erupt. thundarr the barbarian, and the dungeons & dragons cartoon where they get warped into the rollercoaster.

Not even the Treehouse of Horror specials?

The one where Groundskeeper Willie was Freddy Krueger scared me quite a bit.

i'm pretty sure the first one was used in 1983-1999.
