Dietary changes can correct a lot of medical problems but usually the changes in the diet need to be so strict to work that people have trouble sticking to the diet.
When my daughter was younger we tried the Ketogenic diet to treat her epilepsy but it eventually became too expensive and strict to follow.I was also concerned about the effects of forcing such high amounts of fat into a child but a lot of kids at her Neurologist had very good luck with the diet though and most were able to control their seizures with dietary changes alone. That is amazing considering these kids were having 10-20 seizures a day.
Sorry to get so far off topic.
Yeah, that's what I heard too. It's really frustrating that money issues and/or availability of certain foods in the stores can prevent someone from getting better. I hope your daughter's doing well.
Um, and to stay on topic....I can't eat beans.
Yes that does suck that the parents income can determine if a child gets better or not...reminds me of last weeks southpark.
And she is doing very well now, thanks. She has been seizure free since 3rd grade and she is in 7th now so that is pretty good. I got my figers crossed.
to stay on topic...why can't you eat beans? Beans are delicious.
I can't eat anything that still has eyes like fish when they leave the eyes in and flop it down in front of you.
That's good news, I'll cross my fingers too.
Yes, beans are delicious, I used to love them, but now when I eat 'em I get all burpy and my throat tightens to the point of being very uncomfortable. It must be some condition/allergic reaction that I developed, so unfortunately I simply cannot eat beans.
The eyes thing reminds me of my old college roommate, she can't eat any meat if it still looks like an animal, so fish eyes and skin are a no-no.
