Lol, they banned some pretty stupid things at my school. Pokemon Cards, Digimons, Chinese Burns, Spice Girls photos, Connecter Pens. And now in High school, they've banned Mobile Phones but everyone brings them.

A lot stuff got banned at my school (but I always broked the rules)

tattoos of any size (I was the only kid with a tattoo)
            shirts with bands on them
            skateboards
            radios/boomboxes
            combat boots
            game boys (original)
            The Big Johnson Shirts
            CDs
            cassette tapes
            roller blades
            pajamas
            cameras
            couldn't wear Starter jackets
            couldn't wear Jordans
            laser pens
            porn magazines
animals (unless we was dissecting or something)
The underachiever (and proud of it) shirts
            Beavis and Butthead material

            and more

In the 70's and 80's the only things I can remember being "banned" were thong-sandals aka flip-flops. Every spring we got the lecture , everyone wore them anyway, and no one did anything about it. And they were banned because you could trip on stairs, even though our elementary school didn't have any stairs, and because the bare foot is some kind of health code violation.

Also shirts with beer advertisements, and this very popular shirt with a picture of a frog on it that said "I'm so happy I could just s**t." Why it was a frog, I don't know. But of course it was banned.

On the Simpsons season 1 DVD, if on one of the menu screens you change the color of Bart's T-shirt somehow and then press enter, you will see a news story on schools banning certain Bart Simpson T-shirts.

Yeah, I remember wearing this Simpson shirt back in eighth grade and they made me take it off. I refused to so they suspended me for wearing the shirt, then the next day more kids was wearing the shirt so now the shirt is permanently banned from my school.

I remember we couldn't wear Bart Simpson T-shirts. One in particular casue it said " I'm Bart Simpon, who the hell are you ". Fellow students would put a piece of tape over the world hell.

In the school I went to up until I graduated from it last year, they banned RUNNING ON THE PLAYGROUND AND MAKING LOUD NOISES DURING RECESS. As a little kid that basically takes all the fun out of your recess. They also banned Beyblades cuz a kid cut his finger when he touched it while it was spinning or something...anyway I wasn't into Beyblades so I didn't care much.

My old elementary school banned Pokemon cards (and any other thing like that, Digimon and such) because they "were of the devil" along with Furbies.

                                sorry if I said this before, but I remember back when I was at school;

one day one of the older boys was wearing a T-shirt which had a picture of a Jamaican guy sticking his middle finger up at a tourist.
The T-shirt also had the slogan "same ****, different island" .
Despite the nature of the T-shirt, he wasn't in trouble for wearing it (as far as I know) .

If somebody wore a shirt like that to school when I was in HS they would of got paddled and they would have to change the shirt or wear it inside out.

For the schools I've been to, they've banned (that I know of) Pokemon cards, Game Boys, Gigapets, playing cards, Halloween costumes (automatic expulsion), Yu-Gi-Oh, and pretty much anything else along all of those lines.
