They didn't ban very many stuff back in grade school, but I do remember Pokemon merchandise being banned.

Hey Mystie, do ya know why they banned sticky hands?

Does it make you feel better about yourself when you criticize people?

Well being a little nicer about it could have worked too. Oh well, I'm a strong believer in karma.

Thats funny...apparently I've been posting here since June 12; I've been lurking here for longer. I'm quite aware of what the 'culture' around here is- when I first joined this site I don't remember anyone being rude. I'm sorry but having fun is one thing and bullying people is another.
Don't get me wrong, I can have fun like the best of them, but I'll also stand up and speak my mind when something is bothering me.

Oh yeah, slap bracelets were banned in a freakin' instant at my middle school. They also outlawed "pencil fighting" - this is where you squeeze the eraser side of your pencil into an axe-shape and take turns flicking each others pencils until one breaks. God I wish I could go back to those days.

like pogs, pokemom cards, yu gi oh cards, crazy bones, gameboys, sport cards(basketball, baseball, etc.)Super hero cards
You know, this will probably earn me instant hatred, but...

It was SCHOOL. You were there to LEARN, not play, not to put on a fashion show. If you wanted to play cards and compare clothes, you should have been doing that after school. Not to mention things like pokemon cards and gameboys have a bad habit of getting stolen, which creates an even bigger interruption with the school, and you can see where I'm going with this.

We went to school to learn, to be taught. Nowhere in the job description does it include "goof off and impress everybody else with your cool new stuff". It happens, but its not actually part of what going to school is about.

The kids use to do pencil fights at my jr. high too. The teachers would get mad if you went to class with a broken pencil.

I remeber there were these combs that were disguised as switchblades. You'd push the button and *SNAP!* no blade but a COMB. That didn't go over too well.

I went to private school and they banned "non natural hair color" and they went ape dung over this one girl who shaved her head. They also would do the periodic "kneel down so we can see how many inches off the ground your skirt goes." So fun... they almost banned pants for the girls because girls would wear pants and then they'd wear their blouse un-tucked under their sweater. It was the STYLE I TELL YOU!
