I know some people who would say they were a child of the 60's even though they were born well after that decade, they're just pseudo hippies and choose to embrace part of that decade...the music and the fashion, etc. When you were born does not necessarily dictate which decade you associate with.
I had a lot of pop culture influence in the 80's because my siblings were teenagers and so I was exposed to a lot of 80's things other than what a child would be exposed to (my fave song when I was 3 was "Another Brick in the Wall"

but I am not an 80's kid cause I like 90's pop culture better, mainly the music.
