      Sorry, I didn't notice.

for some reason it looks like it won't show the 'www.' so it looks like you will have to manually type that part in (without the space I just put in). I don't understand why :?

Man, I wish I was around when they still had the old playgrounds...they look a lot more fun than the random plastic tubes they've got now. I did always enjoy climbing around in the tubes when I was younger, though...I remember one of them I was climbing around in had a little blue room with a see-through plastic window at the top of it...I thought the yellow thing looked cool, so I touched it...and well, it was pretty hot out that day so the plastic was scalding, and I got a huge blister on my hand. I showed it to my mom and she threw a fit and yelled at the McDonalds manager...something about it being unsafe in the Playplace

I remember being on one of the outdoor playgrounds once but I don't remember when (for some reason I think it was when they had toys for the Power Rangers movie). Most of the ones I've been in were indoors, and sometimes they had those arcade style computer games with the rotating ball that kids play stuff like Sesame Street on. If you're not sure what I'm talking about that's because I haven't seen those kind of things in a really long time.

I loved the spinning hamburger! I remember it always seeming like the best excuse to sit next to this boy I had a crush on and just kind of 'slide' into him! Hmm ... problem was it was NEVER actually slippery plastic so I would have to casually inch myself over ... which of course made spinning the wheel kinda tricky! ugh. anyway grade school love ~ so tragic!

No, it was the movie in 1995 with Ivan Ooze.

I believe that was Discovery Zone the promoted the Power Rangers Movie.

Here's some pics I found of the old equipment being taken away!!!

That's a good question, JP. I wondered that myself!

I remember hearing/reading somewhere that there was some safety issue with the hamburger jails, and that all McDonald's locations had to get rid of them.

Here's a pic of an abandoned hamburger cage. If it's still in that same spot I don't know, no idea where this was taken either.

why do things need to be "safe?"

I agree. Good question! I mean anything can be unsafe if you're not careful, right?

Yeah! I totally remember the oldschool McDonald's playground.. thats what you call true playground equipment.. anymore playground equipment is all plasticized because too many people sue for this and that.. anyways.. long story short.. I remember the equipment especially sitting in the hamburger jail and those things you sat on and rocked back in forth in.. I don't remember anything else..

But we had a caboose for birthday parties and stuff.. now that was sweet.. we don't have that anymore either.. kids today are deprived of true fun but spoiled with all this other junk lol

i mean kids are gonna hurt them selves no matter what. you put a kid in a padded room and they will figure out a way to get hurt. hahaha

With the jails. I don't know if this is the same issue as every where. But kids would stand in the entrance tunnel and not let other kids out of the jail. It almost always ended in parents fighting.
