I was 18 in '97 and had been watching the Simpsons for a good 7 years by then. How could you possibly not even heard about the Simpson.

I was 12 in 1997, and it was indeed a good year! That's the year the "101 Dalmatians" TV series premeired.

I think I'm going to write an article on this year, but probably not for a while because I want to write other articles on here too. My biggest inspirations for this article are the awesome articles by Roadgeek about 1994. Wish me luck, everybody! If everyone doesn't mind, could someone please show me pictures of writing articles as a tutorial?

Here's a list of the topics that I want to cover in this article:

                Video Games
                TV Shows/Channels
                VHS Tapes
                Books
                Day Care
                Kindergarten

There's probably going to be more in the article, keep your eyes peeled! I was 5 years old in 1997, but I have great memories of that year.

Please do an article on that year! For TV Shows/Channels, I'd be pleased if you mentioned 101 Dalmatians and Disney's 1 Saturday Morning, and also this year was a turning point for Cartoon Network. And yes, by all means, talk about the video games of that year!

Whoa, cool! I didn't know we were only a year apart in age. And yes, 1997 was a pretty cool year. It was the height of my TMNT obsession. :)

oh snap same here MM, TMNT was at my highest in 1997(probably because of TMNT: The Next Mutation)

1997-The 2nd Worst Year that I've ever had!

January-Things were okay with MST3K Premiering on Sci-Fi Channel, going to another church, and things were going to be better...so I thought.
Febuary-I broke the VCR remote (Now I know better since they're like Cell Phones, you can put them back together again.)
March-I went to Deer Creek and I had a bad time there. (The first two times I went there, it was cool but that time sucked.)
April-Things looked (almost) up, and the Washington trip kicked-ass. (I'm STILL trying to wonder when I could go again.)
May-I was about to get Confirmed while being a new Member of a Church that I'm at now.
June-The VCR I have could only tape on SP mode and that's when I found out I was going to be Home-Schooled. Goodbye Social-life.
July-This was the 2nd worst summer that I've ever had. We didn't do much but I worked with my father.
August-This was when I found out that we won't have cable TV since my father had a bad season.
September-Everything that was my childhood was practically gone. No cable, no paper, and no social life.
October-The Tribe was in the World Series, that was a plus. But everything else was a drag since my father worked at the Post Office.
November-The only escape that I had was watching tapes that I previously made. And most of the shows I love was on cable which sucked since I didn't have it.
December-It rained that Christmas (Well, a White Christmas shouldn't have been there because of the year I had.) and we had a dinky tree.

I wish I could turn back time so I could rearrange this shit-ass year 1997 as well as 2007.

Yes, I remember that. El Nino was strong. We had some wicked pissa noreasters that winter.

1997 was a swell year for me. The summer after 3rd grade my family moved down to FL from Buffalo, NY and I became more religious. Also, I had the biggest crush on the guidance counselor at my school whom is now a clinical psychologist and was earning his PhD at the time. I enjoyed 1997 despite being the target for my brother to butcher who was a college senior at the time. What I really hated was when he would tell my mother what I was doing wrong and before I knew it, my mother would immediately take his side, and say, "Your brother's right, if it looks weird, don't do it." That really pissed the hell outta me but I was all but a 9-year-old 4th grader so there wuz nothin' I could do about it. Nowadays I would've argued the shit out of him to leave me alone. Anyway, I do not mean to sound hostile, but it wuz just an event of that year that lived in my mind and I wanted to get it out of my system. Other than that, 1997 was a fun year. I made new friends who I still remain friendly to this day, acquired great role models, and lived by all my relatives of whom half are dead now, boy is change constant! It was also the year of becoming a semi-Floridian since I lived in the north until that period. 1997 was a year of massive change for me as a person that still remains to this day.

Most of the good shows were cancelled or off TV by 1997.

My social life was good, but most of the entertainment sucked ass. Backstreet Boys? boy bands? *gags*
