This thread is for us to talk about fajitas! :D

I hope that Capt Howdy or H. Reems have a chance to put a picture of a fajita with a condom in it or something. I love it when they do stuff like that!

I just saw a documentary about these things being invented by some no-name Mexican restaurant in the 1970's called.........something Mexican, but it was kinda cool to see the guy who supposedly came up with the idea.

Could have been. It's actually kinda hard to find a disgusting picture of a fajita, don't think I didn't try. Still looking.....

I just use whatever chicken I can find (no I don't go randomly walking around looking for live chickens) but I mostly prefer chicken breast.

I just cut up onions, green peppers cook them in olive oil in a pan

then cut up the chicken and cook that in another pan, then combine the veggies with the chicken and add Fajita mix

stir it up, and poof! good tasting fajtias

oh, course you need to get some lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and tortillas
but there is really no set up for those things

Try a fajita taco salad with lots of guac, veggies, pico de gallo, cheese and sourcream.

I get that at a local authentic Mexican restaurant. Makes my mouth drool just thinking about it.

I just had fajitas for lunch today. I've tried to make them, but I can't get it right. I've tried several recipes, but they either don't taste like they do in the restaurant, or the marinade just didn't work well enough on the skirt steak, and it comes out extremely tough.

As for On The Border, I don't really like them. Their fajitas are pretty good, but every other thing I've tried at that place has been nasty. One time I ordered a burrito, and it had what looked like pot roast meat, sliced apple and potato. It was nasty.

if you have it all depends on what you expect out of your fajita's

I don't really like chicken fajitas vintage, I go with beef. Do you have a method for beef fajitas?

try the same thing, just with beef instead of chicken

it will probably matter on the packet of fajita mix too, so mix and match

it you have not tried the fajita mix method give it a go

if you have, then try a different kind of fajita mix

                                    don't worry you'll get it

The thing with beef is your supposed to use either skirt or flank steak, and that has to be marinated or it will be too tough. And I haven't found a marinating method which works really well. I tried one I got online that made the steak tender, but the thing is the base of the marinade was olive oil, and the meat soaked all that up. So when I threw the meat in the pan all of that crap came out and it was more like cooking a stew than fajitas. Even after I drained all that crap off the meat and veggies were still coated with this oily gunk.
