Of course everyone knows for an 80's child it's Voltron and for me when it comes to movies, it was "Vampire Hunter D" on TBS back in 1993 when i was 11 and "Akira" when i was 13.

My first anime is "Speed Racer". Back when I watched on TV as a kid, I didn't know it was made in Japan. After that there was "Kimba the white lion", "Capain Harlock", and "Star Blazers".

Astro Boy I didn't even know that it was japanese at the time, I found out that it was japanese later when someone else at school told me because they also used to watch the show when they were younger.

Oh yeah, The Lil' Bits slipped my mind. I definitely have to add that to the list. I can't think of the original name for the series right off...I just know that it came out in 1981 in Japan.

I guess I'm just like the original poster. As a kid I watched Voltron, and my freshman year in high school, around 1994, I saw Vampire Hunter D on TBS. Other than that I don't think I've seen any other Anime.

But didn't the Power Rangers show in the U.S. have American actors? Or at least English speaking. I never really watched it, but I thought they had English speaking people in it.

All the battle scences, all of the villian scenes, all of the megazord scenes, and almost all the of the PR morphed scenes, along with some other stuff (like the scene of Zordon when he was human in the first episode, that was Super Sentai as well)

"The Flying House" circa 1982. Then would come Voltron, Superbook, and the barrage of Nickelodeon cartoons that were made in Japan. (Don't forget "The Little Prince"
